Welcome to this OER Creation & Adaptation workshop!

These webpages are designed to accompany the face-to-face instruction you will receive over the next 90 minutes. By the end of this workshop you will be able to:

  1. Define and describe different types of Open Educational Resources (OER)
  2. Explain the differences between the various Creative Commons licenses
  3. Create a BCcampus Pressbooks account
  4. Create parts and chapters within your open textbook
  5. Write a list of learning outcomes for the first page of your open textbook
  6. Search for relevant and openly-licensed content within major OER repositories
  7. Import text from web pages into your open textbook
  8. Locate relevant and openly-licensed images
  9. Locate relevant and openly-licensed videos
  10. Embed images and videos within your open textbook
  11. Use the Pressbooks formatting toolbar to add hyperlinks to the text
  12. Use the Pressbooks formatting toolbar to create shaded boxes and to properly format learning outcomes
  13. Reorganize the pages and chapters of your open textbook
  14. Publish your open textbook
  15. Alter the privacy settings of your open textbook
